The Industry- An Abstract Self-Portrait Series
"A Dream" is the first piece in this series it depicts the feelings of a young girl and her ideas of what the fashion world is like. "A Dream" is unframed and is 12"x24". This piece is part of a diptych with the next piece "Dreamer".
This piece coinsides with the previous piece "A Dream". The dreamer is a little girl who wants nothing more then to be apart of the Fashion world as a model. This unframed mix media piece is 12"x24".
This piece shows the glamours side of modeling when a young model is winning competitions and the glitter and gold of the dream is within reach. The accomplishment of signing with a modeling agency has been achieved and the confidence is at an all time high. This framed mix media piece is 29.25"x23"
"Miami" is a confusing stage in this models life as she enters the fashion world as a working model. Miami is full of luxury, fashion, parties, and darkness. This piece portrays the model's mind as she walks the fine line of ones self worth. This piece is framed and measures at 19.75"x24"
"Hell" is the state of mind the model feels as she goes to battle everyday at auditions. The constant scrutiny of her weight and body take a toll on her as she begins to lose herself. This unframed piece is 18"x24".
"Broken Beginnings" is the beginning of the end for this once hopeful model. She begins to slide down a dark path as the industry begins to break her. "Broken Beginnings" is the first piece in the triptych "Broken" and is 14"x18" unframed.
This piece is the center of the triptych and the center of the model's soul. It is being darkened with anger and confusion, as she tries to gather the broken glass around her. This unframed piece is also 14"x18".
The final piece in the triptych is a continuation of the other pieces as the model is in a fetal position trying to hold on to herself as she walks through the storm. This piece is 14"x18".
"Chaos" is currently the last piece in this series as the model has somehow survived her storm and light is reappearing in her life. Things are still very confusing as she is forced to change her life's passion and dream. She is at a crossroads with constant battle scar reminders of where she has come from. This unframed mix media piece is 35.75"x24".
